From our Parent Association Co-Presidents

Dear Laurence Families,

We hope you are all having a wonderful summer filled with rest and relaxation! We are beyond excited for the start of the upcoming school year, and the Laurence Parent Association has hit the ground running! We can’t wait to share some of our new changes and ideas that have been put into place for our Laurence community.

Many volunteer committees work in conjunction with the Laurence Parent Association and the administration, and with your involvement, we provide numerous activities, events, and gatherings that bring our children and families together. Being a committee volunteer gives an inside look at how our get-togethers are created, and the Laurence Parent Association could not be where it is today without all of the incredible skill sets that our volunteers offer. In addition to the cherished peeks into our children’s school days, long-lasting friendships are often formed amongst families through these experiences of working together.

For these reasons and more, we strongly encourage everyone to sign up and volunteer on committees using this link. In addition to the signup form, you will also be able to access committee descriptions that explain in greater detail the time commitment and responsibilities. We know there is something for everyone! Thank you to those of you who expressed interest in being a Room Parent. (Please note that Room Parent assignments will be shared during the first or second week of school.) For all other committees, please submit your completed online form by this Friday, August 19th.

This upcoming school year, families will see a brand new lunch vendor – Hero Eats, a revamped snack bar menu, celebrations for Laurence’s 70th anniversary, the return of the fabulous Holiday Boutique, and beautiful on-campus decorations for holidays and main events! We are thrilled to be able to share these amazing improvements with our community, and encourage everyone to continue offering suggestions and ideas. We hope to have hospitality offerings back at our in-person meetings, and will offer two virtual meetings to help those who cannot join in person. Please mark your calendars for the Parent-Teacher Social, on September 9th at 6:30 p.m., and our first in-person Parent Association meeting of the school year on September 15th after drop off.

We absolutely love being your representatives to the school, and we appreciate your support and kindness. We look forward to another special year together and can’t wait to see everyone in the fall! As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time.

Best,

Sylvia & Tina
