Planting Day Pictures

Planting Day is such a beloved tradition at Laurence, and last week's event did not disappoint! Our students spent time on this beautiful, sunny fall day planting in our Edible Garden with their Big/Little Buddies, making sachets with fresh herbs and flowers from the garden, and sharing fall snacks. The day was led by our 6th grade students, who also led younger students through interactive stations in the Science Center. Students learned about wind energy, experimented with how different types of soils absorb water, and counted tree rings from pieces of our recently departed campus Mulberry tree.

Thank you to the chairs of our PA Planting Day Committee, Tracy Garcia and Lorraine Dahlinger, and to our science specialists, Aimee Ward and Evelyn Lemus, for their hard work in making this special day possible. Thank you also to the many parent volunteers who helped out last week, to the parents and 6th grade students who baked yummy fall treats, and to Anne-Marie Esser and Michaela Pearl from our PA Photography Committee. Lastly, congratulations to our 6th graders on leading a successful Planting Day that was enjoyed by all!
