The fall football season kicked off with a great start! Here's the latest round-up of game highlights...

6th Grade

The 6th Grade Yellow team won a thriller at Buckley on October 9th, defeating the Griffins 7-2. After giving the Griffins an early two points off of a safety, the Lightning defense held off the Griffins by not allowing another point after that. In the 4th Quarter, quarterback Jake L. hit Dylan S. for an important first down that put the Lightning in scoring position. On the very next play, the Lightning found the back of the end zone with a great catch by Colin S. as time was running out. It was a great victory for the 6th grade yellow football team!

5th Grade

Our 5th Grade Yellow team played in a very exciting game at Sierra Canyon on October 16th. Our offense and defense played extremely well, but Sierra was up for the challenge. With our boys trailing by four and only 1:20 left to play in the game, Hudson "Pebbles" S. made a great defensive play that resulted in Sierra having to punt the ball back to the Lightning. Nick "Dragon" D. ran the punt back 45 yards to score a go-ahead touchdown, but with only seconds left to play, Sierra scored a controversial game-tying touchdown. Both teams battled hard in the 26-26 tied game.

4th Grade

Both 4th Grade flag football teams played their first game of the season against Curtis on October 10th. The Yellow team was down 21-0 at half-time, and after a huge pep talk by Coach Redmond, came back to win 22-21 on a last-second, two-point conversion play. The Blue team battled hard in their debut game, but came up a little short 26-12, against a very strong opponent.
