Celebrating our Lightning Athletes
Celebrating our Lightning Athletes

This week we held our Annual Sports Ceremony, virtually celebrating our 4th through 6th grade athletes. Sports looked different this year - like everything else - but our students played hard during PE and had fun competing in our first ever After School Kickball League! As Coachie said during the ceremony, all of our students "redshirted" this year, preserving their Hall of Fame play status. This year's special speaker was Laurence's own Sam Hliboki (Class of 2013), who is currently playing NCAA Division 1 baseball, pitching for Vanderbilt University, currently ranked third in the country. Sam spoke eloquently about the importance of hard work and dedication, and shared how he adapted this year to keep his game strong.

As always, the ceremony included an incredible sports montage with special help from this year's 6th grade class. The Hall of Fame induction, for 6th grade students who played sports during all eligible seasons for all eligible years, included a special in-person (masked and distanced) ceremony, which was recorded and shared during the virtual Annual Sports Ceremony.

Coachie and his team were honored to continue this important tradition, and we look forward to celebrating in-person next year! Let's all remember to Represent the "L" on and off the field or court this summer!
