We're a family at Laurence, so it is a longtime school tradition that classes celebrate Thanksgiving together at school. With our 6th graders in virtual learning during their last Laurence Thanksgiving, we wanted to find a way for them to participate in the 6th grade's annual tradition. In past years, students and their families have had lunch together in the PAC, and each 6th grade student shared something for which they were thankful. To carry on this tradition, our 6th grade students all gathered on the Lightning Field after sports conditioning this week (6 feet apart and with masks, of course), and each had a chance to share a message of gratitude with the entire class. Although their parents could not join them to share a meal, we were happy to find a way for our students to carry on this 6th grade Thanksgiving celebration and send them home with apple pies for their families, courtesy of our 6th grade room parents!
