The 2023 US Chess Elementary Nationals have concluded, and our entire team walked away with their heads held high knowing they truly represented Laurence in the most extraordinary way. They showed resilience, patience, stamina, determination, and sportsmanship in every round. Between the three days of seven rounds, and the hours of practice and game review, these kids played nearly 30 hours of chess last weekend.
Thank you to the parents for their commitment and dedication. There were disappointing losses, and hard fought victories. They left Baltimore with hearts full of pride, lessons learned, and memories made.
Oh, and our team placed 7th in the nation in the K-6 U1000 section! Congratulations to:
