Summer is the perfect time to relax and enjoy a great book. To help our students explore new stories and authors, we've curated a list of recommended summer reading titles by grade level. Each book includes a brief description to guide your selection.

Mrs. Wolke's Book Club

Be part of the reading fun with Mrs. Wolke’s Book Club... it’s easy to join! Just remember to keep track of your reading and share your thoughts.

Join in a few easy steps!

Grades K-1
  1. Use the Reading Log to track each book you read this summer.
  2. Read five or more picture books or three chapter books with a parent or on your own.
  3. Draw a picture of your favorite book.
  4. Bring your drawing and reading log to your teacher or to Mrs. Levin, our librarian, when school starts in the fall.
Grades 2-3
  1. Choose two or more books at your reading level to enjoy over the summer.
  2. Use the Reading Log to record each book you read.
  3. Use the Summary Sheet and write about one of your favorite books.
  4. Return your summary and reading log to your teacher or to Mrs. Levin, our librarian, in the fall.
Grades 4-6
  1. Choose two or more books at your reading level to enjoy over the summer.
