Dear Laurence Families,
Los Angeles County has announced that schools are allowed to open for in-person learning for TK-6th Grade. This is incredibly exciting news, and we know you are anxious to find out what the next steps are for Laurence!
Our overall goal is to get all of our students safely back on campus every day, and to keep our campus open. Thus far, our plans have been careful, deliberate, and successful, while prioritizing the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and families. We will continue to move forward with the same caution and thoughtfulness. Our operations continue to be limited by strict public health mandates, including physical distancing, cohorting, and density on campus, as well as newly-announced guidelines.
Starting next Monday, February 22nd, we will be moving forward with a staggered-in approach, adding an additional grade level on campus each day (and ceasing sports conditioning). This will allow us to troubleshoot and ensure that as we launch, we are doing so safely and efficiently.
This situation is dynamic and fluid, and it is our intention to build up to bringing back all of K-6 in the next several weeks. We will be in touch when we are ready to welcome all of our students back on campus every day. We will restart our Laurence bus program once everyone is back on campus full time.
As we return to campus, we want to remind you that our ability to keep our community healthy and our campus open is incumbent upon every member of our Laurence family remaining vigilant. We encourage all members of our community to review and abide by our Laurence expectations of health and safety.
Stay strong and optimistic! We thank you for your trust and patience. Please reach out with any questions - my door is always open!
