CAIS/WASC Accreditation
Laurence receives the maximum accreditation.

Laurence School is proud to have earned the maximum seven-year accreditation from the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
In 2026, following an extensive self-study involving faculty, staff, administration, the Board of Trustees, and parents, as well as a four-day visit from the CAIS/WASC Visiting Committee, Laurence was recognized for the strength of its mission, programs, leadership, community, and long-term vision.
In its final report, the Visiting Committee highlighted Laurence’s deeply embedded mission and enduring commitment to the “Total Child,” recognizing the school’s ability to honor more than 70 years of tradition while continuing to grow, evolve, and innovate.
“By successfully blending a rich, seventy-year tradition with forward-thinking innovation, the school has created a stable yet dynamic environment where educational excellence and social-emotional growth are mutually reinforcing.”
The Committee further noted that Laurence is “positioning itself to remain a leader in independent school education for the next seventy years and beyond.”
We are deeply proud of this recognition and grateful to our faculty, staff, administration, trustees, parents, and students for their thoughtful participation throughout the accreditation process. This achievement reflects the strength of our entire community and affirms our commitment to building upon Laurence’s remarkable legacy while continuing to evolve for generations of students to come.
