Summer Camp

For 62 years, Laurence School has been providing high quality, personalized education for elementary school children. We are delighted to offer students entering kindergarten through fourth grade, as well as our Junior CITs (fifth and sixth graders) CITs (7th - 9th grade Laurence graduates) and Counselors (10th - 12th grade Laurence graduates) the benefit of our experience, philosophy, and resources during the summer months.

Our summer is a combination of academics and pure fun and excitement. Our morning enrichment program consists of summer sports, arts & crafts, and music, and our morning learning activities include a readiness program for the kindergarten campers to prepare them for the transition to elementary school. For the first through fifth grade campers, we provide math, reading, and writing reinforcement and acceleration.

Incoming Kindergarten students are encouraged to attend our Summer Camp Program to meet their classroom teachers and academic specialists, make friends, and explore their new school campus in a relaxed and fun setting. During the mornings, activities incorporate academic subjects, including reading, math, and science. In the afternoons, students participate in our "summer fun time" with games, waterslides, and more!

CIT Testimonials:

"I love to befriend new kids, form great relationships with them, and be at the school I adore and used to attend. I love to be around my old teachers and to be a role model for the campers. The environment at Laurence is amazing, and I can't possibly think of NOT spending the summer there!" -Lara S. (CIT of six years).

"I feel at home at Laurence, I love the school and treat it as I do my home, with love and respect. I feel very connected to my Laurence family, and would love to work with the teachers, staff, and administration, who I admire, to make this summer experience as enjoyable as possible for the Campers. Second, I find great interest in taking leadership positions of all types, and I feel like this will be a great way to use my leadership skills in a different way during my summer break. My leadership positions at school involve leading people who are the same age as me or, at most, two years younger than me. This summer I would enjoy leading and having a positive influence on students who are considerably younger than me. Last, spending a portion of my summer at Laurence Summer Camp will allow me to make someone else’s day better. I love seeing the faces of the campers suddenly brighten up whenever do even the simplest thing such as fix broken art project, play with them, or tell a funny joke. The little things you do can make someone’s day better, especially with younger campers." - Sydney L. (CIT of 5 years)
