Dear Laurence Parents,

I hope that you had a great summer filled with family and friends, and that you are refreshed and ready for an exciting new school year. I am truly looking forward to my new role as President of the Parent Association and can't wait to work with our spirited and creative parent body.

The Parent Association is dedicated to promoting a strong sense of community for students and parents alike.It plans many activities and events, including, Parent-Teacher Socials, Halloween Carnival, Hot Lunch, Snack Bar, Planting Day and the Global Farmer's Market, to name a few.There are numerous opportunities for you to become involved, with volunteer positions to fit a wide variety of interests and schedules.

In addition to your contribution of time and effort, fundraising is also essential in assuring that our students have a rewarding educational experience.The generous donations of Laurence parents through activities such as The Holiday Boutique, The Annual Spring Event, and The Golf Tournament are vital to the operation of the school.

I welcome and encourage all parents to attend our first Parent Association meeting on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 8:05 a.m. in the Library.This is an excellent time for you to learn about volunteering, obtain information about events and connect with new and returning parents.

Thank you for being a part of this amazing community that is Laurence School.When we as parents show our pride and enthusiasm through participation, we set a wonderful example for our children.I hope that you join me in making this a memorable and fulfilling year for our students and for Laurence School.
