Because we understand that the experience of learning by doing is so much more effective than passive learning, we encourage our students to actively participate in many and varied educational experiences. Starting in kindergarten, we help them begin to think independently. This enables our students to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills that are refined over the years.
As you may have discovered within your own family, no two children develop in the same way. They all have their own unique learning style and abilities. That's why Laurence has a highly personalized approach in planning the academic year for each student. The classroom teacher works closely with administrators to provide the most effective learning environment for the child's total development. Each grade level provides a carefully planned academic curriculum with enrichment classes which emphasize understanding, critical and creative thinking and concept development.
It is the school's philosophy to truly provide for individual differences in each student's learning. We recognize that each student learns in a different way and has his/her own unique style of learning. Laurence provides children with an environment of warmth and acceptance, encouraging each student's sense of security and self-worth.
