Kids' Court

A Unique Mock Trial Program

Students learn the fundamentals of our legal system in our award-winning mock trial program, developed by Head of School, Laurie Wolke, J.D. Sixth Grade students place historical, literary, and fairytale characters on trial and bring the drama of the courtroom to life, assuming the roles of prosecutors, defense attorneys, and witnesses.

This program encourages critical thinking and public speaking, while providing an outlet for creativity as the students write legal arguments, create characters, and build sets.

Student jurors in the 2nd through 5th Grade learn legal concepts and debate skills as they determine the guilt or innocence of famous defendants, who have included Peter Pan, Willy Wonka, Dr. Frank N. Stein, Dorothy Gale, and Captain E.J. Smith of the Titanic.
