About Laurence

Director of Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Liz Silverman

Director of Kindergarten - 2nd Grade, Mrs. Silverman, has more than twenty years of experience in the field of education, both as an elementary school teacher and a Kindergarten - 8th Grade principal. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in elementary education and a Master's degree in reading instruction and educational leadership. Prior to coming to Laurence, Mrs. Silverman spent 14 years working as a principal in Ventura County, where she specialized in gifted and talented youth and teaching strategies. Now, she brings this expertise to our school, heading our Writer's Workshop program and overseeing the Kindergarten - 2nd Grade academic program with her colleagues, Head of School, Laurie Wolke and Founder Marvin Jacobson.

When Mrs. Silverman is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Marc, and two daughters, Michelle and Erin. Michelle is a social worker in Madison, WI and Erin graduated from University of Colorado Boulder this past Spring and is pursuing a career in education.
