Glee Club

Singing! Dancing! Performing! In the Lauren School Glee Club, students will sing the afternoon away to their favorite popular songs. Students will continue to develop vocal, breath, and performance technique, while also learning to sing in harmony. To culminate the session, the students will have a special assembly performance!


Minecraft

If you enjoy Minecraft, then this is the class for you! We'll be starting with a brand new maps in this Adventure. Girls and boys alike will enjoy the opportunity to mine, build and work together with their classmates in the world of Minecraft.


Canvas Painting

Join me each week for a fun afternoon of painting. Let your imaginations run wild on your blank canvas! I will teach you techniques and give you tips to make your own masterpieces. We will be painting on varying sizes of canvas including one oversized canvas!

Egghead Legos

Think you've got what it takes to be an Egghead Machine Engineer?! Using LEGO, students will design and build real mega machines like spinning windmills, lifting cranes, elevators, cars and warmer. We'll use wheels , bands, gears, pulleys and tons of other cool specialty Lego pieces to build our machines, and ten after the building phase is complete we'll put them to the test. That means we'll try to break's, blow them over and put weight on them. If you pass the test, you pass the challenge! At the end of the session, students will receive an Egghead Machines Degree. Science has never been this cool!

The Early Learners Strings Class offers Kindergarten students violin instruction through the renowned Suzuki Method, which draws inspiration from folk tunes and recognizable composers. This program meets for 45 minutes twice a week during the school day.

Learn to hand sew and embroider with all new projects for the New Year. Our first project teaches how to sew on a button with a felt case. Other projects include; mini kitty cats, emoticon patches, nature embroidery and a super raccoon pillow. All materials and sewing kits are provided.

Brainstorm, storyboard, pencil, ink and color. Imagine a world full of new technology and challenges facing humans at every turn....Now draw it! In this special comic book class, create a character that will explore the future as you see it. When you zoom light years ahead, what will you find? After the session is over, the comic booklets are taken back to our studio and professionally edited and put together! When complete, the comic books will be delivered to the students and are theirs to keep.

Fabric Dyeing 101

In this class we will explore various methods of plant-based dyeing with hands-on projects that students will take home. With each project we will learn about a new technique while making design choices as we blend colors and mix mordants to achieve our desired effects. We will be making our own dye with various root vegetables, tea, spices and flowers. In this workshop each student will be making a shibori pillowcase, a cochineal gradient tote bag and a batik resist t-shirt.

Look for the Bare Necessities in the jazzy beat of Disney's The Jungle Book Kids. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, this production features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie. Act, sing, dance and help build the sets for this funny and entertaining musical!

Full STEAM Ahead is all about the science, technology, engineering , art and math involved in building various kinds of floating vehicles ranging from rafts to sailboats to racing craft and cargo ships. Recipes this season include: cauliflower couscous, fruit punch salad, green tea smoothies and veggie sushi bites! Mix, chop, taste and have fun in the kitchen this winter! Coconuts, stone fruits, squash, beets and so much more! Using the daily fresh ingrediates and a special recipe from our chef, students will create a delicious (and nutritious) dishes in every class. Our little chefs will also get to try new foods like green tea powder, while they practice culinary skills. This class is hands on and tons of fun. And don't forget your appetite!

*Students will take home their own recipe book at the end of the session.
